• DUCK STAB & ESKIMO on vinyl in September
As previously announced, MVD will be releasing the next albums from the Classic series on vinyl and CD in September.
• Codgers on the Moon web site now on-line
Half of Charles Bobuck's new project is now live: the Codgers on the Moon web site. The CD is due for release this week.
• BLACK BARRY from San Francisco 1989 RSD
The Residents launched their 1989 performance piece, CUBE E: The History of American Music in 3 EZ Pieces, with a series of five shows in San Francisco.
Of the three parts (impact of the cowboy, slavery, rock & roll) the middle section, the influence of black music, got short changed. There was a good reason this happened. This section was the only one that was written specifically for the show so it had never been recorded in a studio. The other two sections had already been released prior to the tour.
So no complete recording of Black Barry existed other than an anniversary box set of the entire show and a much overlooked cassette from the San Francisco run.
This is Black Barry from the San Franciso early shows. 1989. Twenty minutes. Remastered. RSD
