In mid-1999, Ralph America posted a free MP3 of an unreleased Residents track on its site each month. After 12 months, those tracks were collected on a CD entitled dot.com. Walter Westinghouse, track 9 on the CD, was a bonus: it had never come out in MP3 format, but only appeared on this CD. Also, the final track was a much longer version than had appeared on the website.

The artwork for the CD case featured winning entries from the Halloween 1999 photo montage contest (for which images of Residents on a plain background were provided and fans were asked to put them in interesting places).

In 2017, Klanggalerie re-released this collection, adding several tracks from Radio Thoreau, the 2014 RMX project from Charles Bobuck.
